Earth Day Activities | The Harbin Lawyers Association Environmental and Resources Committee, the Dedi Law Firm branch, and the Dingduo Law Firm branch jointly held a World Earth Day hiking event and issued a World Earth Day initiative.

On the occasion of the 55th World Earth Day, in response to the theme of "Cherishing the Earth, Harmony between Humanity and Nature," on the morning of April 20, 2024, the Environmental Resources and Energy Professional Committee of the Harbin Lawyers Association, together with the Party branch of Heilongjiang Dadi Law Firm and the Party branch of Heilongjiang Dingduo Law Firm, organized a hiking and visiting activity themed "Reduce Plastic, Pick Up Plastic, Environmental Protection Together" at the Binzhou Railway Bridge and the Middle East Railway Impression Museum in Harbin. The aim was to awaken people's awareness of protecting the earth and their homes, promote the coordinated development of resource development and environmental protection, and improve the overall environment of the earth.

During the activity, all participants used the theme and concept of "World Earth Day" to promote environmentally friendly travel, reduce the use of plastic products and disposable plastic products to pedestrians and tourists along the Middle East Railway Bridge, encouraging everyone to choose public transportation (such as buses, subways, cycling, walking, etc.), purchase reusable daily necessities in daily life, save resources, bring their own garbage bags during outdoor activities, and establish an awareness of environmental protection and saving.

Currently, of the 7 billion tons of plastic waste already generated globally, less than 10% has been recycled. Many of us use these products every day. Therefore, the "Global War on Plastics" requires the participation of all countries, public and private sectors, and individuals worldwide. Through participation in this activity, everyone gained a better understanding of the concept of "Planet vs. Plastics".

Proposal

1. Be a Propagandist.

Actively learn about environmental protection knowledge, enhance your own environmental awareness, establish environmental protection concepts, vigorously promote environmental protection knowledge, actively participate in environmental protection work, and encourage more people around you to participate in the action of cherishing the earth.

2. Be a Leader.

Starting from ourselves, starting now, starting from small things, abandoning bad habits, saving water and electricity, resisting white pollution, implementing garbage classification, advocating the "Clean Plate" campaign, and taking the lead in practicing a green life of "saving resources and protecting the earth".

3. Be a Volunteer.

Join the ranks of volunteer service, actively participate in environmental protection volunteer public welfare activities, and insist on doing some meaningful and practical things for the environmental protection cause within your capacity.

The Harbin Lawyers Association Environmental Resources Committee will continue to be guided by Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, guide the whole society to establish the ecological civilization concept of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature," advocate the Earth Day theme concept of "Cherishing the Earth, Harmony between Humanity and Nature - Saving Resources, Green Low-Carbon Travel," practice a lifestyle and consumption model of "saving resources, protecting the earth, green low-carbon, civilized and healthy," vigorously promote the greening of people's consumption concepts and lifestyles.
